Welcome to the official site of Sheikh Ahmad Kuftaro's foundation and Abu Nour Mosque. Founded 70 years ago as a small mosque at the foot of Kaasyoun's mountain, it is today both a foundation and mosque, consisting of nine floors, and 18,000 square meters of space. The foundation includes three Islamic colleges, two Sharieah institutes, research and translation centers, dormitories for males and females, a snack canteen, an extensive library and the Al Anssar charitable society, which sponsors more than 2000 orphans.

Guided by the Qur'anic verse:
(Who is better in speech than one who calls (people) to Allah, works righteousness, and says " I am of those who bow in Islam?")
The foundation has accepted the mission and responsibility of calling mankind with wisdom and good word to the submission to God.
The remembrance of Allah (Zhikr) and spiritual purification has always been the motive for all Da'awa activities in the foundation, which begin in the classrooms of Damascus and extend to the farthest corners of the globe.

Abu Nour mosque serves as a voice of national unity, as it calls for harmony amongst Muslims, Christians and people of all religions.
Sheikh Ahmad Kuftaro's Foundation advocates for the cooperation between the scholar and the state following the tradition of the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
The foundation offers programs in Islam, the Islamic sciences and the Arabic language. Options exist for those at all levels of knowledge, including beginners and advanced students. Each year, 12,000 students from over 55 countries around the world study with Abu Nour's highly qualified staff of renowned scholars.
